Meizu PRO 6 Launched, Features Deca-core Processor And 3D Press Screen

Meizu PRO 6 looks like another monster
device from China with huge specifications.
We’ve seen devices like Vernee Apollo with
6GB RAM and deca-core phones are slowly
entering the market. Meizu isn’t the first
brand to announce a deca-core smartphone,
Zopo Speed 8 and Umi Zero 2 have been
announced but Meizu PRO 6 looks like the
first one to be commercially available.
Compared with its predecessor which has a
5.7-inch screen, Meizu Pro 6 has a smaller
5.2-inch screen. One thing sets it apart
though: it attempts to take on the 3D Touch
feature on the iPhone 6S with a similar
feature called 3D Press. The device has a
Super AMOLED screen with 1080p
resolution. The display is protected by a
curved 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3.
Meizu PRO 6 comes with MediaTek Helio
X25 chipset and it seems the brand has
reserved exclusivity over this particular
deca-core processor. This looks like an
upgrade to MediaTek Helio x20 processor.
This is a processor with 10 cores in 3
clusters — 2x Cortex-A72 clocked at
2.5GHz, 4x Cortex-A53 clocked at 2.0GHz
and 4x Cortex-A53 clocked at 1.4GHz.
It comes with a 21MP rear camera powered
by Sony IMX230 sensor. This is supported
by a ring flash consisting of 10 LEDs and
it’s the first time we’re seeing this on a
smartphone. There’s also a 5MP selfie
camera at the front. It has the fingerprint
sensor built into the house me button.
There’s a 4GB RAM onboard and internal
storage starts at 32GB. It comes with a
2650mAh battery which looks rather small
but the Meizu claims you can attain a full
charge from 0% under one hour. Pricing
starts at $385.
